Block Paving Driveways in Your Town

Hard-wearing block paving laid on a properly compacted sub-base, with crisp edge courses and a choice of colours and laying patterns.

— Overview

What you get

Block paving remains the most popular driveway surface in the UK — and for good reason. Laid correctly it will take decades of daily use, individual blocks can be lifted and replaced if services need running underneath, and the range of colours, sizes and laying patterns means no two driveways need look alike.

How we build it

Every installation follows the same sequence, whatever the surface. We excavate to the depth your ground conditions require, lay and compact a sub-base in layers rather than in one go, restrain every perimeter, and design surface water away from the property before a single block, slab or board is laid.

We do not subcontract. The team that quotes the job is the team that turns up, which is the simplest reason our finish is consistent across hundreds of installations.

Questions about block paving driveways

How long does a block paving driveway take?

A typical single or double driveway takes three to five working days from excavation to final compaction, depending on size, access and any drainage work needed.

Correctly kiln-dried and compacted joints resist weeds well. We can also finish with a polymeric jointing compound, which locks the joints and dramatically reduces weed growth and sand wash-out.

Not usually. Permission is generally only required if you use an impermeable surface over 5m² and do not direct surface water to a soakaway or border. We design drainage into every quote so this is handled for you.
