— The brief
What the customer wanted
The existing concrete had cracked badly along the centre and water was tracking towards the garage door. The owners wanted a clean, contemporary finish that would still suit a 1930s semi.
What we did
Broke out and removed 68m² of failed concrete
Excavated to 250mm and laid a compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base
Installed a linear channel drain across the garage threshold
Laid charcoal blocks in 45° herringbone with a silver-grey double border
Kiln-dried sand jointing and full plate compaction
The result
A level, free-draining driveway with the water problem designed out, finished in four working days.
