Patios & Paving in Your Town

Porcelain, natural stone and paved patios laid to fall, on a full mortar bed, with sealed joints and neat detailing.

— Overview

What you get

A patio is where a garden becomes usable. We lay porcelain, sandstone, limestone and concrete paving on a full mortar bed with the correct falls away from the house, so water runs off and the slabs stay put.

How we build it

Every installation follows the same sequence, whatever the surface. We excavate to the depth your ground conditions require, lay and compact a sub-base in layers rather than in one go, restrain every perimeter, and design surface water away from the property before a single block, slab or board is laid.

We do not subcontract. The team that quotes the job is the team that turns up, which is the simplest reason our finish is consistent across hundreds of installations.

Questions about tarmac driveways

Porcelain or natural stone?
Porcelain is dimensionally consistent, frost-proof, very low maintenance and stays clean. Natural stone has more character and variation. Both perform well — it comes down to look and budget.
Porcelain does not. Natural sandstone and limestone benefit from a breathable sealer, which reduces staining and slows algae growth in shaded areas.
We do not recommend it. Old bases are rarely sound and the added height often breaches the damp-proof course. We lift and rebuild properly.
