Fencing & Gates in Your Town

Closeboard, featheredge, panel and slatted fencing on concrete-set posts, plus made-to-measure timber gates.

— Overview

What you get

A fence is only as good as its posts. We set every post in concrete to the correct depth, run gravel boards to keep timber off the ground, and use treated timber throughout so the line stays straight and true for years.

How we build it

Every installation follows the same sequence, whatever the surface. We excavate to the depth your ground conditions require, lay and compact a sub-base in layers rather than in one go, restrain every perimeter, and design surface water away from the property before a single block, slab or board is laid.

We do not subcontract. The team that quotes the job is the team that turns up, which is the simplest reason our finish is consistent across hundreds of installations.

Questions about fencing & gates

How tall can I build a fence?
Generally up to 2m in a rear garden and 1m adjoining a highway, without planning permission. We will flag anything that needs consent before we quote.
Concrete posts last considerably longer and will not rot at ground level. Timber posts look warmer and suit contemporary slatted designs. We fit both.
Your deeds will show which boundaries you are responsible for. If it is unclear, we are happy to work with whatever you and your neighbour agree.
