Decking in Your Town
Timber and composite decking on a properly ventilated sub-frame, with hidden fixings and matching balustrade.
— Overview
What you get
Decking works beautifully where levels change or where a patio would need a lot of fill. Built on a treated, well-ventilated sub-frame with the right joist centres, it stays flat and solid underfoot.
Included as standard
- Treated softwood, hardwood and composite boards
- Ventilated sub-frame at correct joist centres
- Hidden fixings on composite for a clean surface
- Matching balustrade, steps and fascia detailing
- Non-slip inserts available for shaded areas
- Integrated low-voltage deck lighting
How we build it
Every installation follows the same sequence, whatever the surface. We excavate to the depth your ground conditions require, lay and compact a sub-base in layers rather than in one go, restrain every perimeter, and design surface water away from the property before a single block, slab or board is laid.
We do not subcontract. The team that quotes the job is the team that turns up, which is the simplest reason our finish is consistent across hundreds of installations.

Questions about decking
Timber or composite?
Composite costs more up front but needs no staining and will not splinter or warp. Timber is cheaper and looks warmer, but needs treating every year or two.
Will it be slippery?
Any deck in deep shade will grow algae. Composite with a textured surface, good airflow underneath and an annual wash keeps it safe.
Do I need planning permission?
Generally not, provided the deck is under 30cm above ground level and does not cover more than half the garden.
